All the vocab you need to know to be a successful Zag!

AD: Short for the Administration Building, this is the original four-story building in the center of campus.  Now re-named to College Hall (CG Hall)

Ambassadors: A student volunteer group who works with the Admissions Office; they host visitors and give campus tours among other things.

Bozarth: Gonzaga's retreat and conference center. The mansion is located about 20 minutes north of campus.

The Bulletin: The weekly student-run newspaper.

Campus House: Located at 1104 N. Dakota, it is used by University Ministry for meetings and social gatherings.

CAT: Cataldo Dining Hall is located on the north side of campus by St. Aloysius Church; contains Jazzman's Coffee Bar, Pandini's, and the Globe Room.

CCASL: The Center for Community Action and Service Learning coordinates volunteer projects.

Centennial Trail: The recreational path that runs through Riverfront Park in downtown Spokane, through the GU campus and continues all the way into Idaho.

C/M: The St. Catherine/ St. Monica residence halls are the coed home for many first year students.

Core: University academic requirements necessary for graduation.

COG: The "Center of Gonzaga" is located between Crosby and the Foley Library. It contains the bookstore and dining facilities.

Crosby: The Crosby Student Center is the hub for information and activity for students. It houses meeting rooms, Mail Services, University Ministry, Crosby Cafe, GSBA and the Career Center.

ESL/ISP: The "English as a Second Language" and "International Student Program".

Flex: This is a credit amount included in student meal plans; students may use flex to purchase food at any of the eating establishments on campus as well as Dominos and Papa John's restaurants.

Foley Center: This is Gonzaga's main library and includes a large variety of books, reference materials, a rare book collection, and an espresso bar.

GAB: The Gonzaga Activities Board is a group of students that coordinates activities and social events on campus.

GSBA: Gonzaga Student Body Association

Knights: A sophomore service organization of 30 men.

Lake Arthur: The lake located next to Jundt Art Museum.

Martin Center: Gonzaga's athletic and recreational facility that contains a fitness center, fieldhouse, dance studio, classrooms, and more.

R.A.: Short for Residence Assistant, a student working for the Housing and Residence Life Department as a manager of a floor or wing of a residence hall.

R.D.: Short for Residence Director, a student or professional working for the Housing and Residence Life Department as the manager of an entire residence hall.

RHA: The Residence Hall Association is the student government within each residence hall that plans events and addresses concerns within different halls.

ROTC: The Reserve Officer Training Corps is the University's military science department and is run by the United States Army.

Setons: A sophomore service organization of 30 women.

Spike: Gonzaga's bulldog mascot. (The actual bulldog seen roaming campus is named "Q")

St. Al's: St. Aloysius Church.

Unity House: Located near campus house and the COG, it houses the Director of Cultural Affairs and the Spokane chapter of the NAACP.

The Wall: A long wall between the AD building and Crosby that is run by GSBA and used by the GU community to post messages about upcoming events.
