Production

The 2005 Spires was produced on five Intel Pentium 4 PCs using Adobe PageMaker 7.0 and Adobe Photoshop CS2. The pages are 9 in x 12 in, 100 lb enamel paper printed with black ink. The press run of the 2005 Spires was 1700 copies of 224 pages with a summer delivery.

Photography

All photographs were taken with a Canon D10 or on 35mm film. All photographs were taken by the 2005 Spires photography staff unless otherwise noted.

Cover

The cover was designed by Mary Mendenhall and is on matte black with a tip-on sticker of four-color photos. The printed words are in colors noted to the left. The fonts used on the cover are Panorama Light and Panorama Light SC.

Endsheets

The endsheets are white 65 lb stock paper. Black ink was used on the front and back endsheets. The front endsheets also use the ink colors noted to the left. The fonts used are Panorama Light, Light Alt, and Light SC.

Typography

All body copy and captions are 8, 9, or 10-point AWPC Optima. Photo credits are in AWPC Optima Italic. Quotes in the Student Life section are in Panorama Light. Fonts in sections are as follows:

Student Life: Headlines are Panorama Light. Subheadlines are AWPC Optima, Panorama Light SC.

Sports: Headlines are Carimbo. Subheadlines are AWPC Optima.

Academics: Headlines are Panorama Light SC.

Clubs and Organizations: Headlines are Panorama Light Alt. Subheadlines are in Panorama Light SC.

People: Headlines are Panorama Light. Subheadlines are AWPC Optima and Panorama Light SC.
