A student uses a "pu'ili" or split bamboo stick to portray the meaning of the traditional Ku'u Hoa song. The song expresses the love and longing the composer has for his sweetheart.

About 100 Gonzaga students packed up shovels instead of paintbrushes this year, and set out to rebuild trails, clear brush, and set up tents for Camp Cowles (which is owned by the Boy Scouts of America).
