Last Request

I made a last request for quick cremation. She answered absolute as a grand-vizier,"Dear, you'll rest in stone for all creation." "Please, I'll not be up for recreation."She replied, "In one piece you'll be near."I implored, "Respect my quick cremation. Don't damn me to concrete incarceration.Let the garden spread with ashes be my bier."Her reply? "Get used to stone for all creation." To go to ground at once my expectation,To free my spirit from all earthly gear,I made one last request for quick cremation. She said, "Hermetic love will your compunctionease to scatter. You'll not stray from here. Dear, you'll rest in stone for all creation." I schemed to exercise self-immolation before her slick embalmers could interfere, but she pinched out the flame of conflagration."Dear," she closed, "In stone! For all creation!"
