Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical nonprofit Christian ministry dedicated to bringing the affluent and less affluent together as a community to build decent, affordable housing for all God’s people in need.  We achieve our mission in partnership through: Faith-our foundation, volunteers-our walls, donor-our roof, and families-our heart.

· Provide homeownership for low-income families living in substandard conditions

· Requires 500 hours of “sweat equity” as a down payment

· Provides a 0% interest mortgage

· Utilizes volunteer labor and donated materials

· Makes a lasting impact on each family

 Volunteer Opportunities:

Various tasks must be performed to keep our construction sites productive, such as swinging a hammer to running materials, stocking the warehouse and refinishing cabinets. Construction site work days are Tuesday through Saturday 8:30am to 3:30 pm.  Special arrangements may be made to accommodate special needs (Saturday worship day for example).  All skill levels are welcome to help construct Habitat homes. In addition, there are many non-construction jobs to be done, including site selection, family selection, and organizing fundraiser auctions among other things.
