GUSR

GUSR

GUSR (Gonzaga University Specialized Recreation) strives to create an atmosphere where people of diverse backgrounds, abilities, and ages feel welcome, respected, and loved. We focus on creating programs for adults with developmental disabilities, creating a safe place that fosters equality and inclusion. We serve a group of people with exceptionalities who are underrepresented at Gonzaga; we stand to create a niche for people with developmental disabilities at Gonzaga. Our programs and activities are created to foster an inclusive environment at Gonzaga; in fact we have more Gonzaga students in the program than we do adults with developmental disabilities! Our programs include: Special Olympics, seasonal parties, biannual plays, the annual Way of the Heart Retreat, fundraisers, and many other special events.

The annual Way of the Heart retreat is coming up February 1st & 2nd! This event spans Friday evening from 4:30 - 9:30 pm and picks back up Saturday from 10am - 5pm. This is a great opportunity for students or clubs to do service work, regardless of previous experience. We will be crafting, dancing, and attending the women's basketball game vs Pepperdine, among others.
If you are interested, please fill out this application and turn it in to CCASL by Wednesday, January 23rd at 4pm.
