The Career Center (TCC) offers a variety of resources to faculty and instructors for use in coursework.

How can The Career Center Services Help you?

The Career Center can provide faculty and instructors with information regarding our programs and services. We offer tours of the Career Center office, presentations for department meetings, and classrooms. This information will assist you in facilitating referrals for your students to the TCC and better understand how our programs and services can compliment your course requirements.

We know faculty and advisors are a constant source of career guidance for students. Through written publications and individual assistance, we can help you become familiar with career development and planning information, issues, and theories as they relate to the material you present to your students.This information will also assist you during meetings with students who express career concerns.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Internship program offers work experiences that compliment a student's academic program. It is distinguished from other work experiences because it is directly related to a student's program of study and has clearly defined learning objectives. It consists of substantive and supervised work that deepens the students' understanding of an academic discipline. more info...

PRESENTATIONS

Career Center professionals are available to come into classes, student organization meetings, and residence halls to offer a variety of instruction and information on career planning and job search topics.

Classroom Presentations- Structured to provide students with general knowledge and understanding about the Career Center programs and services. Career Center professionals offer a variety of instruction and information on resume preparation, interviewing, career planning and job search strategies. The presentations are offered in various formats that can include a quick 15-minute introduction, a formal information session and guest speakers from the professional community.These are scheduled upon  request, please call 313-4234.

Student Organizations & Residence Hall -Topics for student organizations and residence hall programs include career planning tools, both general and discipline specific, resume preparation, interviewing, and networking. If you have a specialized topic not listed here, please contact The Career Center at 313-4234.

Interested in scheduling a presentation? We ask for a minimum of two-weeks lead time to process requests. Impromptu requests will be handled on a case by case basis.


CAREER PLANNING PUBLICATIONS AND HANDOUTS

If you prefer to use handouts and publications as part our your course, The Career Center is willing to share our materials with faculty and students. We are unable to provide large quantities for all courses offered, however, we can provide a master copy for reproduction through your department.

MOCK INTERVIEW PROGRAM

Mock interviews provide students with the opportunity to practice and/or improve their interviewing skills. This program not only helps students to perfect their interviewing technique, it will also provide them with valuable feedback and performance coaching by experienced corporate professionals and recruiters. Students learn about their strengths and weaknesses and how to improve their interviewing techniques.

In today's competitive world, students need to be prepared. The Career Center recommends that all students participate in at least two mock interview sessions.
