Temporary Parking Pass Request Form
This page is used for requesting temporary parking passes to park in Gonzaga University owned parking lots, which may be done by staff/faculty of the University, or by outside parties who plan to host events on campus which will bring visitors. It is primarily for larger groups, which will be attending the campus for certain pre-planned events.
Individual permits for shorter visits may be obtained from 5 different locations on campus during their normal operating hours: Campus Public Safety and Security (lower level of Welch Hall), the Switchboard and the Admissions Visit Office (both located just inside the front doors of the main Administration Building, Switchboard is open 24 hours a day), or from either library's circulation desk (the Foley Library or the Chastek Law Library). Temporary Parking Passes are not required in visitor's slots on campus, although numbered slots in the Ad lot and at the Law School require the vehicle owner/operator to sign in at either the Switchboard (Ad lot) or the Law Clinic or Law Admissions Office (Law School Lot).
We request at least a week before the event to process requests of 100 passes or less, and two weeks for 100 or more, so plan ahead! The fields below are required to be able to submit your request. CPS&S will try to accommodate your request as best as possible, but we do reserve the right to refuse or change the requested parameters of the temp pass if necessary. In this event, we will attempt to notify the requestor ahead of time if we need to do so. The following are some suggestions for populating the fields below, which may be helpful in making your request:
Campus Area Valid: We generally direct large groups of visitors to campus to the larger Green overflow lots. These lots are easiest to find, provide the greatest availability of parking spaces, and offer the least disruption to staff/faculty (red) or Residence Hall (yellow) parking. The Green lots are:
- "BH" Boone/Hamilton/Cincinnati - (on the west side of Hamilton, near the digital "Welcome to Gonzaga" sign, flanked on the north by Twohy Hall and David's Pizza, and on the south by Madonna Hall)
- "MC" Martin Centre - North of the Centennial trail, excluding the red east MacCarthey Center lot and the red area in the extreme NW corner of the Martin Centre lot.
- "BVG"Boone/Van Gorp - corner of Boone and Van Gorp, West of Knights of Columbus Hall, across Boone from the Music Mansion.
- "SCHO" Schoenberg Center - West side of Schoenberg Center, at the southernmost end of Pearl Street.
If you need your visitors to park somewhere other than these lots, please make reference to it in the "comments" section of the request form.
Date(s) Valid:
It is acceptable to request passes for more than one date depending on your event(s). For example, perhaps your group meets every Thursday, or once monthly until the end of the academic year, or likewise. We try to limit the carte blanche passes to prevent abuse, (i.e. "park anywhere, all year long"), but we recognize that some temp passes are needed on the same vehicle for more than one date.
Issuing Department:
Issuing Staff/Faculty Name:
Campus Phone Extension:
These fields are self-explanatory if the requestor is an employee of the university. If the requestor is not an employee of the university, please type "Campus Public Safety and Security" under Issuing Dept., "Gerdes" under "Issuing Staff/Faculty Name", and "x4147" under Campus Phone Extension".
Keep in mind that after you receive your temp passes, the actual vehicle owner/operator will still need to fill out the required fields for Vehicle Information, or he/she may receive a citation while parked on campus. It would be helpful if he/she filled out Vehicle Owner/Operator and Owner/Operator Cell Phone as well. CPS&S will include a reminder note with your completed temps to help the requestor remember to remind visitors to do this. Guests should then be instructed to place the pass on the front driver's side dashboard of their vehicles while their vehicles are parked on Gonzaga property.
You will be notified via e-mail or phone when your temps are prepared and are ready for pick-up from the CPS&S Office, lower level of Welch Hall, corner of Dakota and Desmet, during normal operating hours.
Please call 313-4147 for questions regarding temporary passes.
