ICTC’s Mission

The Inner-City Teaching Corps (ICTC) is a non-profit education organization that transforms education and empowers children in the most undeserved areas of Chicago through the provision of outstanding teachers and innovative education programs.

Our Work

ICTC is a two-year program that places recent college graduates in the high-need classrooms of Chicago's urban schools.  With the option to either live independently or in a faith-based community, as well as being able to teach in public, charter, and Catholic schools, ICTC teachers are in a unique position to choose a path that is best suited to support them.  All teachers go through the same signature training done in partnership with Northwestern University's highly ranked School of Education and Social Policy, while also receiving ICTC's unparalleled one-on-one, in-classroom coaching multiple times per month from our Master Teacher Coaches.

Once the two-year commitment is complete, teachers have the option to complete a Master's of Science in Education degree from Northwestern University, as well as having preferred access to our Alain Locke Fellows and ExSL New School Leadership Program.  The combination of these elements provides participants with a distinctive path to leadership within urban education.  Our staff, corps members, and alumni are all working hard to close the achievement gap.
