Shaw Connection

Welcome to Shaw Connection

Shaw Connection

Shaw Connection is a mentoring program based on Gonzaga Campus that works with middle school students (grades 7-8) from Shaw Middle School.  Shaw Connection is designed to improve the academic and social success of its mentees.

 Shaw Connection

Shaw Connection establishes relationships between positive role models and mentees to help the mentees realize their potential.  This will aid the mentee in creating a vision for the future and a plan for how that vision can become a reality.  Mentor and mentees participate in a variety of academic, recreational, and social activities.

Shaw Connection meets on Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30.  During this time there is a snack provided, tutor time, and then a fun activity.  In addition, there is a Saturday activity once a month where the mentors and mentees get off campus and experience all that Spokane has to offer.  These activities have included Greenbluff, ice skating, and bowling.  Shaw Connection is year-long service commitment.  We would like mentors who are willing to continue in the program with their mentee for longer than one year but this is not a requirement.  Anyone who loves working with middle school students should apply.
