Shaw Connection
Welcome to Shaw Connection
Shaw Connection is a mentoring program based on Gonzaga Campus that works with middle school students (grades 7-8) from Shaw Middle School. Shaw Connection is designed to improve the academic and social success of its mentees.
![]() | Shaw Connection establishes relationships between positive role models and mentees to help the mentees realize their potential. This will aid the mentee in creating a vision for the future and a plan for how that vision can become a reality. Mentor and mentees participate in a variety of academic, recreational, and social activities. |
Shaw Connection meets on Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30. During this time there is a snack provided, tutor time, and then a fun activity. In addition, there is a Saturday activity once a month where the mentors and mentees get off campus and experience all that Spokane has to offer. These activities have included Greenbluff, ice skating, and bowling. Shaw Connection is year-long service commitment. We would like mentors who are willing to continue in the program with their mentee for longer than one year but this is not a requirement. Anyone who loves working with middle school students should apply. | ![]() |
