| An all-day event, this conference gives the members of family-owned businesses the opportunity to discuss unique family-business situations. This year's keynote speaker, Dr. Lee Hausner, is a renowned family business consultant and psychologist specializing in issues of wealth and wealth transfer. Dr. Hausner's speech, "The Success of Small Family Business Succession," will lead the event and outline a unique six-step transitional model of succession in family business. Local family-owned business leaders will lead group break-out discussions on responsible communication, the importance of setting policies, the value of a board of directors, and gaining voice. Rick Robinson, CEO of local family-owned business Hotstart, and Rich Simmonds, family business consultant, will also lead a case study, outlining Hotstart's own steps of the family engagement process and setting up for a successful succession.
