Hussain to Address Muslim-Christian Ties Oct. 26

Amir Hussain, a Canadian Muslim and professor of theological studies at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, will discuss “Building Faith Neighbors: Jesuit Universities and Muslim Communities,” 7-8:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 26 in the Globe Room at Gonzaga University’s Cataldo Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Hussain will address the connections between Muslims and Christians, the history of Islam in America, the role of comparative theology, and the connections that exist between Jesuit universities and Muslim communities in the United States.

The lecture is sponsored by Gonzaga’s office of intercultural relations and the Gonzaga religious studies department. It is the third annual lecture in the Being Religious Interreligiously series.
