| Fall Family Festivities Unfold Oct. 23-25 | |||
Even the leaves are putting on their finest coats as Gonzaga University prepares to greet students' families for the three-day seasonal spectacle called Fall Family Weekend, Oct. 23-25, when campus peaks in autumnal glory. More than 1,000 Gonzaga families will flock to campus for the opportunity to spend time with their students in this fun-filled fall fling that’s packed with activities and learning opportunities for Zag students and their families to share. For Gonzaga familes, it’s an opportunity to see how their students are adjusting as they begin to shape the next chapters of their lives. Highlights of this year’s Fall Family Weekend include the Autumn Gala (opening celebration with hors d’oeuvres, drinks and conversation), 4-6 p.m., Friday; two showings of the play “Pride and Prejudice” (7:30 p.m., Friday; 2 p.m., Saturday); the GreenBluff Apple Festival, 12:30-3 p.m., Saturday; men’s basketball scrimmage, 5 p.m., Saturday (doors open at 4 p.m.); and the always-popular session, “How to Get Your Son or Daughter off the Family Payroll.” A Campuswide Food Drive is the new addition to the weekend’s lineup. In another Fall Family Weekend highlight, former “Saturday Night Live” comedian Kevin Nealon will perform at 8 p.m., Friday (Oct. 23) in the McCarthey Athletic Center. Tickets for Nealon’s show, presented by the Gonzaga Activities Board. are $20 for students, $25 for everyone else and are available through Gonzaga’s Ticket Central Ticket Central.
