 The Gonzaga University School of Law will host the Fall 2009 business meeting of the American Bar Association's Presidential Advisory Council on Diversity in the Profession (ACD) Oct. 8-10. The ABA Presidential Advisory Council on Diversity has the general charge to increase racial and ethnic diversity in the legal profession and within the ABA.

Events surrounding the meeting will include a law student reception, a pipeline initiative program and the Carl Maxey Diversity Scholarship Award presentation and reception. The Carl Maxey Diversity Scholarship is awarded in honor of the late Maxey, a prominent member of the Spokane County Bar, a defender of justice, and a graduate of the GU Law School. It is awarded each year by the Spokane County Bar Association Diversity Section. More information about Council on Diversity's mission is available at the ABA Web site.
