| Students Hope Dodge Ball Game Sets World Record | |||
|
Gonzaga’s would-be world-record holders, including hundreds of freshmen in Gonzaga’s largest incoming class ever, stormed Mulligan Field at 10 p.m., Aug. 28 with visions of fame and glory. Orientation Coordinator Julia Esser, a senior, believes the Zags shattered the record with nearly 1,000 players. Greg Anderson, activities manager for Orientation, said Gonzaga is vital and filled with inspiration. The dodge ball record will represent but one small example of Gonzaga’s excellence, he said. All 200 dodge balls purchased for the event were donated to the Spokane Public School District to benefit children. “We had fun, gave back to the Spokane community and I think instilled in our new students the idea that, as a community, the Zags can do whatever we set our minds to,” Esser said. "No record is unbreakable, no task too great for the Bulldogs." Check out the Video (credit Julia Esser) |
