Cheney Foundation OKs $40,000 for GU Scholarships

The Ben B. Cheney Foundation, based in Tacoma, Wash., has authorized a $40,000 grant to support scholarships for students in the Gonzaga University schools of Business, Engineering and Law. The grant will provide scholarships over the next two academic years.

The Cheney Foundation has supported Gonzaga for many years through grants for scholarships, capital projects, and classroom equipment. Ben B. Cheney founded the Cheney Lumber Co. in 1936. The Ben B. Cheney Foundation was established in 1955 to help meet a broad range of philanthropic needs.
