Men, Women Zags Go Dancin' in NCAA Tournament

Get your dancin' shoes on because the Bulldogs' men and women are going to the Big Dance.

The Zags men (26-5) earned the No. 4 seed in the Portland/South Regional and play the Zips (23-12) from the University of Akron, the No. 13 seed, at the Rose Garden at 4:25 p.m. Thursday. It's the first meeting of the two schools on the court. The winner plays Saturday against the winner of the Illinois vs. Western Kentucky match-up. Akron earned the Mid-American Conference (MAC) automatic bid by defeating the University of Buffalo.

Men's Tickets Sold Out: Gonzaga has sold out its allotment of approximately 500 tickets for the first and second rounds of the men's tournament in Portland, a sold-out venue.

The Zags women (26-6) learned Monday they are a No. 12 seed against No. 5 seed Xavier (25-6) in Seattle. The regular-season and WCC Tournament champions, Gonzaga plays Saturday at Bank of America Arena at the University of Washington with tip off set for 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2, the Bulldogs' inaugural appearance on the network.

Tickets for Women's Games: Gonzaga began selling tickets today (Tuesday) until noon for the NCAA First and Second Round Tournament games in Seattle. Tickets for these rounds are $18 per session played. Tickets are sold over the phone ONLY at (509) 313-6000.
