Gonzaga University Continuing Education will host a three-day visit for 68 nursing students and faculty from Osaka Jikei College in Japan. Students will arrive on campus Tuesday, Sept. 30 and will take part in various activities through Thursday, Oct 2.
This is the third annual visit of Osaka Jikei College nursing students to Gonzaga. The students will attend nursing courses featuring Gonzaga faculty and students, visit a student-exchange presentation on diet and supplements featuring perspectives from both countries and special lectures on sleep disorders and grief. Resource lab activities and visits to a hospital, an elementary school, and an elderly care facility will provide the Japanese students with an inside perspective on local health care and community interests.
The nursing students’ experience at Gonzaga, however, will not be all work. The entire group will participate in an intercultural exchange evening program focusing on the American fall traditions, as well as to enjoy some time in the downtown Spokane area.
