Local Nonprofits Aim to Attend GU Service Fest

Gonzaga University students, faculty and staff are invited to attend Service Fest 2008 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 18 in the Globe Room of Cataldo Hall. More than 70 local nonprofit agencies are expected to showcase volunteer opportunities.

The annual event is an opportunity for service-learning students at Gonzaga to meet with a variety of local nonprofit organizations to discover volunteer opportunities. It also provides an opportunity for any students, staff or faculty to find agencies with which to volunteer.

Several postgraduate service programs, including PACE, a graduate service teaching program at the University of Portland, also will attend to answer questions and provide information to students interested in earning a graduate degree in education.
