The theme for Orientation 2008 is "Jump Into GU." It is a water-based theme meant to show incoming students the connectedness of our area, namely with the Spokane River connecting Gonzaga and Spokane with the rest of the Northwest. Incoming Gonzaga freshmen were asked to read the novel "Visible Bones," by Jack Nisbet, involving the history of the Columbia River Basin. The water theme was chosen to encourage students to think about their environmental impact, while still having fun and enjoying Orientation.
