Transformational Leadership in Ministry Workshops

Gonzaga University Continuing Education and the Ministry Institute are offering an interactive online seminar on transformational leadership in ministry for educators and ministers. The series began Jan. 28 and ends May 9. Twenty participants were accepted into the pilot workshop, which cost $200 per person. The seminar focuses on spiritual education and renewal and features intellectual and pastoral interaction through online discussion boards, audio clip responses from instructors, and video segments from facilitators.

Participants will complete one module every two weeks and reflect on their calling while obtaining practical skills for providing services and avoiding burnout. Depending on interest, the Ministry
Institute may also host an additional session for in-person discussion.  

The Seminar Schedule is as Follows:

Jan. 28-Feb. 11:
Reflecting on Our Experiences in Life and Ministry, Mary Garvin, SNJM, Gonzaga assistant professor of religious studies.
Feb. 11-25: Reflecting on Scripture and Tradition, Kathy Finley, adjunct faculty of religious studies.
Feb. 25-March 10: Self-care in Ministry, Sister K.C. Young, hospital chaplain.
March 10-31: Reflecting on Culture, Patrick McCormick, Ph.D., chair and professor of religious studies.
March 31-April 21: Practical Skills for Leadership in Ministry: Administration and Communication, Molly Pepper, Ph.D., assistant professor of business management, and Joe Albert, Ph.D., assistant professor of organizational leadership.
April 21-May 9: Action Plan: What are we Called to Now? Sister Alice Ann Byrne and Shonna Bartlett, the Ministry Institute.
