The Seattle Chapter of the Gonzaga University Alumni Association will host a presentation by Gonzaga men’s basketball Associate Head Coach Leon Rice from noon-1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26 at F.X. McRory’s Restaurant (419 Occidental Ave. S.) in Seattle. The event, sponsored by the Gonzaga Alumni Mentor Program (GAMP) Committee of the Seattle Chapter, is titled, “Looking for 10 Straight.” Rice will provide an exclusive preview of the upcoming season as the Bulldogs seek their 10th straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m., and the talk is to start at noon. The event is open exclusively to Gonzaga alumni and friends. The Zags have assembled a superb group of athletes that may be the most talented group in Gonzaga basketball history. Coach Rice will share his insights on the contributions he expects from the returning players and the new recruits as the coaching staff prepares for another run to the NCAA Tournament. Rice was promoted to associate head coach in April to recognize the contributions he has made to Gonzaga basketball. Since becoming a Bulldog in July 1999, Rice has contributed to the wildest ride in Gonzaga’s storied basketball history. Gonzaga is 211-52 in Rice’s tenure and he has been a key component in helping Gonzaga become a perennial power in Division I college basketball. Visit the following Web site to purchase tickets. Admission to the event is $25 per person. Seating is limited and advance payment is required. No recording devices permitted.
