The Fall 2007 Nonprofit Leadership Conference, “Best Practices for Viability,” will be held on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 25-26, at the Red Lion Inn at the Park in Spokane. Board chairs, board members, executive directors and key staff of nonprofit organizations are welcome to attend. The cost is $129 per person, $109 per person in a group of two or more and $89 per presenter. On Thursday, Oct. 25, the conference begins with an evening reception from 7-8:30 p.m., featuring funders from throughout the region. A speed networking format will allow participants to learn the interests, priorities and timelines for many funding organizations while enjoying the company of colleagues. On Friday (Oct. 26), conference events will run from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and include a morning keynote on mission vibrancy and a panel session on “Investing in the Future” with professionals and board members discussing mission, planning roles, implementing the plan and measuring success. Also, there will be a lunch program on self-leadership featuring Joe Albert, GU assistant professor of organizational leadership, a moderated session on funding and resource development, and a networking social. The conference is sponsored by the Avista Foundation, United Way of Spokane County, Leadership Spokane, Gonzaga University and the Inland Northwest Community Foundation.
