Cisco Systems, Inc. executive Howard Charney will discuss “Driving the Engine of Innovation” at the Gonzaga University Dean’s Business Forum, 7-8:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, in the Jepson Center’s Wolff Auditorium.
The event is open to the public at a cost of $12.50 per person, which includes a continental breakfast that begins at 7 a.m. Early reservations are recommended as the forums fill up rapidly. Charney, senior vice president in the office of the chairman and CEO, is a serial entrepreneur and 35-year veteran of Silicon Valley's high-tech industry. In this dynamic presentation he will explore the three preconditions that must be met to foster and sustain innovation.
Charney will analyze the effects that breakthrough innovations – such as the Internet – have had on productivity and standards of living. In closing, Charney will highlight several critical challenges that face civilization worldwide, and explore ways that we can work together to set the stage for innovative solutions.
