Scriggins Brummett Holds Faculty Recital Sept. 16

Gonzaga University’s music department will host a faculty recital featuring adjunct professor Jennifer Scriggins Brummett on French horn at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 16, in the Administration Building, Room 101. The concert is free and open to the public.

Brummett, a graduate of the Julliard School and Southern Methodist University, has been principle horn with the Spokane Symphony since 2002. Her brass quintet, Classic Brass, qualified for the Texas Commission on the Arts Touring Roster in 1999. She has performed chamber music at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, the Spectrum Series in Fort Worth, Texas, and Tarleton State University, among other venues.

Also, Brummett has been a soloist with several musical groups, including the Chamber Symphony of the Metrocrest, the Music in the Mountains Festival Orchestra, and the Dallas Chamber Orchestra. In addition, she played principle horn in the Utah Festival Opera and Frank Sinatra’s Diamond Jubilee international tour. Brummett has also performed at hundreds of schools to inspire young people and foster their musical development.
