State Supreme Court to Hold Court Here Sept. 11

State Supreme Court Justice Mary Fairhurst, a Gonzaga alumna
(SPOKANE, Wash.) — The Washington Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in three cases at the Gonzaga University School of Law on Tuesday, Sept.11. The judges will arrive Sept. 10 and plan to visit classes at both the Law School and main university.

The Law School will host an evening reception for the judges on Sept. 10 with the local judicial community. The only portion of the justices’ visit to Gonzaga that is open to the public is the oral arguments to be heard in the Barbieri Courtroom (see schedule below). Anyone interested in attending the oral arguments must arrive at the Courtroom at least 10 minutes before the session starts.

There will be time for people to leave and return for both the second and third case. The cases to be heard by the Washington Supreme Court at Gonzaga are as follows:

State Supreme Court Cases Schedule for Tuesday, Sept. 11 at GU Law School:

  • 9-9:40 a.m. — Court hears first case: Washington State Bar Association No. 1695. James Byron Holcomb, Attorney at Law.
  • 10-10:40 a.m.— Court hears second case: Paul Douglas Ingram, Respondent v. State of Washington, Department of Licensing, Petitioner.
  • 10:40-11 a.m.— Question and Answer session.
  • 1:30-2:10 p.m.— Court hears third case: Bryan Lindley Delong, Respondent v. State of Washington, Department of Licensing, Petitioner.
  • 2:10-2:30 p.m.— Question and Answer session.
