Gonzaga University Academic Vice President Stephen Freedman recognized eight Gonzaga faculty for exemplary performance during the 2006-07 academic year at the recent Academic Honors Convocation.

Awards for Exemplary Nontenured Faculty went to history Assistant Professor Eric Cunningham; philosophy Assistant Professor Ellen Maccarone; English Assistant Professor Tod Marshall; and mathematics Assistant Professor Shannon Overbay.

Earning Exemplary Tenured Faculty Awards were religious studies Professor John Downey; exercise science Associate Professor Christina Geithner; business Associate Professor Mark Shrader; and psychology Associate Professor Nancy Worsham.

Suzanne Ostersmith, dance instructor, received the service-learning award. Molly Kretchmar-Hendricks, associate professor of psychology, received the diversity award.

Named Professor Emeriti were mathematics Professor William Carsrud and chemistry Professor Kay Nakamaye.
