'Faith, Freedom and Society' Lecture April 26

Gonzaga University will host a discussion by GU alumnus Rev. Michael Schultheis, S.J., entitled “Faith, Freedom and Society: Globalization and its Challenge to Higher Education in Africa” at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 26, in the Barbieri Moot Court Room of Gonzaga Law School.

The event, part of Gonzaga’s Catholicism for the New Millennium series, is free and open to the public.

Schultheis, who earned a Ph.D. from Cornell University, has been president-emeritus of the Catholic University of Ghana since 2002. He helped to establish the Universidade Catolica de Mocambique and has taught on the faculty of the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and Makerere University in Uganda. At the request of the Sudan Catholic Bishop’s Conference, he is coordinating the planning and establishment of the proposed Catholic University of the Sudan.
