| Dolson's Crosby Record Collection On Sale at eBay | |
|
Longtime Philadelphia sportswriter and columnist Frank Dolson died last year and his large collection of Bing Crosby phonograph records is currently for sale on eBay by a proprietor. The proprietor is donating all proceeds from this records’ sale to Gonzaga University for maintenance of Gonzaga’s collection of Bing Crosby memorabilia. Gonzaga maintains the world’s largest privately held collection of Bing Crosby memorabilia with more than 25,000 artifacts. To view the records for sale online go to www.ebay.com and type “Crosby Gonzaga Dolson”; records are packed 10 to a set. Seven boxes of records already have been shipped to Gonzaga for its collection. The other eight boxes are duplicates of what the university currently has, and therefore are for sale. For answers to questions about the collection for sale, contact Judy Schmidt in Syracuse, N.Y., at (315) 475-1603. For questions about Gonzaga University’s Crosby Collection, contact Janet Hacker-Brumley through April 3 at (509) 323-3822 or via e-mail; beginning April 4 contact Stephanie Plowman via e-mail or at (509) 323-3847. |
