"Women of Juarez" Exhibit Visits Gonzaga Campus

Gonzaga University will host the Amnesty International exhibit “The Women of Juarez: A Photo Exhibit” from April 23-27. The location is TBA, and the exhibit is free and open to the public.

More than 400 women have been abducted and violently murdered in Juárez and Chihuahua, Mexico since 1993. The families of the victims have refused to be quiet about the loss of their loved ones and continue, alongside activists from across the world, to seek justice. Through 27 photographs and an accompanying narrative, the exhibit highlights different aspects of the situation in Juarez and Chihuahua, the struggle for justice and scapegoating by the authorities.

For more information about the situation in Juarez and Chihuahua, visit the Amnesty International Web site. To learn more about the exhibit, contact Laura Brunell, associate professor of political science, at  or (509) 323-6679.
