GU Symphony Orchestra to Perform at Met Dec. 4

The Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra will perform its winter concert at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 4 at the Met Performing Arts Center (901 W. Sprague Ave.) in downtown Spokane.

Conducted by Kevin Hekmatpanah, the program will consist of Schubert’s Symphony No. 5, Strauss’ Blue Danube Waltz, and two spectacular violin show pieces: Saint-Saëns Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso & Sarasate Carmen Fantasy. The violin soloist will be Jinjoo Cho, the first Grand Prize winner of the 2006 Montreal International Musical Competition and the gold medalist of the 2005 Stulberg International String Competition.

Tickets are $7 general admission, $5 for non-GU students and are available at the door. Tickets are free to GU students, faculty and staff. A free shuttle bus will depart from St. Aloysius Church at 6:45 p.m., and 7:10 p.m., and will return after the concert.
