GU Offers Summer Reading Workshops in Pasco

Gonzaga University will offer Pasco children, teenagers and adults the opportunity this summer to develop a heightened appreciation of books and reading, as well as develop and improve various reading skills.

In an effort to improve literacy in the region, Gonzaga has partnered with The Institute of Reading Development to offer summer reading speed and skill development programs for students ages 4 to adult in Pasco. The program aims to provide students with a heightened appreciation of books and reading and to substantially improve their reading skills. Common to each class is engaging classroom instruction, challenging activities, and effective materials – all centered on excellent literature.

All programs in Pasco meet once a week for five weeks, June 23-July 19 at Columbia Basin Community College. Tuition is $199 for the pre-kindergarten program, and $299 for all other programs.

To register or for more information, call the Institute of Reading Development at (800) 979-8980 or visit Gonzaga’s Web site at

Early enrollment is encouraged as class sizes are limited.
