Gonzaga University has named Daniel C. Berryman as its assistant vice president for human resources. Berryman began work at Gonzaga on May 15.

Berryman came to Gonzaga from the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, N.M., where he was the human resources deputy division leader. The laboratory is one of three managed by the University of California for the U.S. Department of Energy; the other two are the Ernest Orlando Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, both in California.

While at Los Alamos, Berryman led a group of 55 professionals providing human resources services to more than 9,000 University of California faculty, researchers and staff. Before that, he worked in human resources positions at Motorola, White Oak Semiconductor and Siemens Transport Systems.

Berryman holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a master’s degree in human resources from Pepperdine University. He is a certified senior professional in human resources, and has taught courses on human resource management at a number of universities during his career.”
