Two Engineering Students Receive Scholarships

Gonzaga University senior engineering students Karen Kramer from Bellevue, Wash., and Jessica Lahman, of Kirkland, Wash., each have been honored with a $2,500 scholarship from the Structural Engineers Association of Washington.

Each year the SEAW offers a $2,500 scholarship to a student who plans to make his or her professional career in the practice of structural engineering. In addition to completing an application form, the applicant must send two letters of recommendation from professors along with an optional letter of recommendation from an employer.

Applicants also must complete a personal essay on the topic, “Why Structural Engineering is the Applicant’s Career Choice.”
After completing the application process, the SEAW selection committee interviewed the finalists and selected Kramer and Lahman.
