GU Symphony Orchestra to Perform May 1 at Met

The Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra will perform its final spring concert at 7:30 p.m., Monday, May 1. The concert will take place at the Met Performing Arts Center (901 W. Sprague Ave.).

Conducted by Kevin Hekmatpanah, the orchestra will feature the winners of the Young Artists’ Concerto/Aria Competition. The soloists will be guitarist Evan Everist, oboist Matt Habjan and flutist Andrea Woods. The program will consist of Beethoven’s Fidelio Overture, Vaughan Williams’ “Oboe Concerto,” Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s “Guitar Concerto No. 1,” Martin’s “Ballade for Flute and Orchestra,” and conclude with Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No 4.”

Tickets are $7 general admission and $5 for non-GU students, and will be available at the door. Tickets are free to GU students, faculty and staff.
