Gonzaga University, the Spokane Regional Chamber of Commerce, AHANA Business & Professional Association, and Whitworth College will host the seventh annual Business Diversity Leadership Breakfast 7:30-10 a.m, Thursday, March 2 in the Cataldo Hall Globe Room at GU.
A team of faculty members (Sheila Ramsey, Barbara F. Schaetti and Gordon Watanabe) from the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication will be the featured speakers.
The Spokane community has been working on diversity issues for many years. The community has heard from excellent speakers from the Summer Institute at previous business diversity leadership breakfasts – helping participants understand the intercultural approach to diversity. This year’s breakfast program will take participants to the next level of intercultural understanding: personal leadership.
In addition to the breakfast program, the presenters will host an optional, in-depth workshop from 10:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. for those interested in gaining additional strategies to successfully implement diversity initiatives within their organizations/businesses.
The event is sponsored by the Spokane Regional Task Force on Human Relations, Washington Trust Bank, The Spokesman-Review – Employee Diversity Committee, Whitworth College, Gonzaga University, Northern Quest, A Kalispel Casino and Washington Trust Bank.
Cost for the breakfast program is $35. Corporate recognized tables of eight may be purchased for $280. The optional workshop costs an additional $50 (includes a light lunch). For those who attend both programs, a $10 discount will be given on workshop admission. To register, contact the Chamber at (509) 624-1393 or visit www.spokanechamber.org.
