Tim Thompson, president of Thompson Smitch Consulting Group of Tacoma, Wash., has been named to the Gonzaga University Board of Regents. The Regents serve as advisors to the Gonzaga University Board of Trustees and to Gonzaga President Rev. Robert J. Spitzer, S.J.
Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga in 1981 in administration, personnel and organization management.
Thompson served as a legislative assistant to Rep. Norm Dicks, D-Wash., from 1982 to 1989. He has served as a consultant since 1990 – first for the law firm of Gordon, Thomas, Honeywell, Malanca, Peterson and Daheim in the Seattle-Tacoma area. He has been president and owner of Thompson Smitch Consulting Group since 2000.
Thompson is a member of the National American Leadership Forum, a member of the board of directors for Topia Technology and a member of the Cascade Land Conservancy Agenda Board. Thompson also serves on the board nominations committee for Bellarmine Preparatory School in Tacoma and on the Urban Waters Board. Previously, he served as a member of the Gonzaga University School of Law Board of Advisors.
Thompson and wife Mary have three children. Their daughter Megan is a Gonzaga University student, while their daughter Caitlin and son Ryan are Bellarmine Prep students.
