Gonzaga University mechanical engineering Professor Abdul Aziz has authored the book, “Heat Conduction with MAPLE,” published recently by R.T. Edwards Inc, Philadelphia. The book uses the symbolic algebra package “MAPLE” to study traditional and contemporary topics in heat conduction and is a result of the author’s more than 10 years experience with the software.

Aziz is the author or co-author of three other books, two handbook chapters and more than 90 papers. He won a gold medal at the University of Karachi in 1963, the Gonzaga University’s Distinguished Scholar of the Year award in 1992, the ASEE (American Society of Electrical Engineers) Centennial Award in 1993, and the Alpha Sigma Nu National Jesuit book award in 2001.

Aziz was elected a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers in 1993. He has been associated with Gonzaga since 1982.
