GONZAGA UNIVERSITY VOLUNTEERS TO
PERFORM VERSION OF ‘LION KING’ DEC. 4-6

As part of Gonzaga University’s Specialized Recreation, a program with the Center for Community Action and Service Learning (CCASL), 20 Gonzaga students and 20 members from the Spokane community with developmental disabilities will perform their version of "The Lion King" at 8 p.m. on three consecutive evenings Dec. 4-6 in the Globe Room at Cataldo Hall.

The mission of Gonzaga University Specialized Recreation is to create an atmosphere where people of diverse backgrounds, abilities, and ages feel welcome, respected and loved. The focus is on creating programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities and a place that fosters equality and inclusion.

"We reach out to a group of people with exceptionalities who are underrepresented at Gonzaga," said Megan Drobnicki, AmeriCorps program coordinator for Gonzaga University Specialized Recreation. "We stand to create a niche for people with developmental disabilities."

For more information, contact Drobnicki at (509) 323-5524.
