Summer 2010 Faculty Workshop

Summer 2010 Faculty Workshop

A workshop held July 13-14 brought together faculty from different disciplines to examine representative core curricula from other institutions in light of the Baccalaureate Goals and the parameters (guidelines, principles, boundaries within which the core at Gonzaga operates).  Participants looked at choices other institutions have made as these schools defined their cores.  The purpose was not to look for a model to copy but rather to consider components of curricula that would fit our own goals and parameters.

Based on positive evaluations of the workshop, we are continuing with similar faculty discussions in Fall 2010.  The analyses produced in the summer workshop are being discussed by the Core Curriculum Committee as it works this fall to formulate a core proposal.
