The Staff Assembly exists to contribute to the success of Gonzaga University, to the growth and welfare of its staff employees, and to the promotion of a positive and supportive work environment. In order to accomplish this, the Staff Assembly has initiated several 'morale' boosters.
Staff Appreciation Ice Cream Socials
In order to acknowledge and thank all of our co-workers, the Staff Assembly will host a Staff Appreciation Social each month (except during the month of the Picnic and in December). Weather permitting, we may host the social outside. Plant Services employees will have their Social the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 8:10 p.m., as well as the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:10 a.m. These socials will take place at Plant Services in the Training Room. These Socials are taking the place of the President's Staff Lottery drawing.
The Staff Assembly feels it is important to acknowledge all that our co-workers do, so please join us each month as we say Thank You! Each month, the Staff Assembly will be asking for your feedback on certain topics. What has Gonzaga done for you this past year? What would you like to see covered during the Fall Open Meeting? Where would you like to see the Outstanding Service in Support of Mission Award plaque placed? So please join us as we 'give you the scoop'!
Anniversary gifts
The Staff Assembly also recognizes each employees anniversary during their anniversary month. Gifts are given based on the years of service. Those milestone anniversaries, such as the 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 year, receive extra special tokens of thanks.
Staff/Faculty Family Picnic
For the past 4 years, the Staff Assembly has planned a Staff/Faculty Family Picnic during the summer whereby staff and faculty, along with their families, can come together one night in July/August and enjoy each other's company while having some fun. In the past we have had a cowboy theme, a hawaiian theme, and a carnival theme. The picnic is catered and there are always lots of activities for all ages of children and adults to get involved and have fun. If you would be interested in helping plan this wonderful event, please send us an email. Planning usually starts around March-April.
