STAFF ASSEMBLY EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MINUTES
Wednesday, July 9, 2003 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.
1898 Room – Administration Building
Members Present: Marcia Bertholf, Kathy Sherrick, Jane Hession, Lisa Meyer, Linda Sue McClure, Trevor Werttemberger, Janice Resch, Stacey Chatman.
The meeting was called to order by President Marcia Bertholf at 12:10 p.m. This is her last meeting for the summer - Krystal will be conducting meetings until her return.
Minutes from the July 2, 2003 meeting were approved pending the correction of the name “Michael†to “Michael Dixon.â€
New Business
SA Founding Members Recognition: Founding members were Bobby League, Kim Gieber, Gail Jennings, Darlene Mitchell, Roberta Willey. It was decided a plaque would be presented to each founder by Fr. Spitzer at the staff picnic when he gives his opening speech. Janice will get glass plaques. Other ideas of appreciation included a bench to set in the Quad engraved with their names.
Compensation Consultant: It is not known whether Trustees have hired a consultant; Janice will look into this and report on the status next week.
Old Business
President’s Lottery: $100 gift certificates to the following places were decided for the remainder of the year: August-local mall; September- Sacred Heart Follies show, and dinner at Shenanigan’s; October-bed and breakfast in Leavenworth; November-groceries at local supermarket; December-Civic Theatre and Clinkerdagger’s; January-Spa Paradiso; February-rooms at Hotel Lusso; March-Runner’s Sole; April-Lowe’s Home and Garden; May-local greenhouse.
Election Committee Report: Mary Beth absent, update unavailable.
Professional Development Series: Being finalized-Tricia and Marcia to update Fr. Spitzer on topics and presentation dates; Dale Goodwin working on catchy title. September is “Mission;†October and November are set to go as well. AJCU Mission conference to be held in November-Tricia will contact Fr. Watson to see if it could connect somehow to Mission session.
Staff Survey: Partial results of the survey were distributed, rest will follow. Thayne McCullough has Brett’s statistical report and written comments.
Picnic Committee: Copies of budget distributed by Linda Sue; suggestions made to get free or inexpensive tent through St. Al’s school or funeral homes; volunteers still needed; Linda Sue reiterated the need for receipts, P.O.s, purchase requisitions---Krystal is keeping records and will work with Linda Sue; Sandra Boyd to be contacted regarding Longhorn P.O.
By virtue of the bylaws, all Staff Assembly meetings are open unless otherwise designated by the Executive Council. Everyone is welcome to attend.
