Staff Assembly Executive Council Minutes

April 1, 2004

1898 Room 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Members Present: Marcia Bertholf, Lisa Meyer, Krystal Burns, Mike Casey, Trevor Werttemberger, Stacey Chatman, Kim Gieber, Mary Beth Charleboix, Bill Kostelec, Kathy Sherrick. Called to order at 12:35 p.m. by President Marcia Bertholf.

Minutes:          Change: Staff and faculty ticket distribution committee still in formative stages; undetermined. Also change regarding Heads Up: add “move to spring break to allow more to attend.” Vote next meeting.

Heads Up:       A summary of the Heads Up comments and evaluation to be written up and submitted to the Cabinet.

Basketball Tickets:  Krystal is on the committee along with two Community Service folks and three faculty members (education, math, psychology). First meeting is April 16, 2004.

Elections: Coming along okay with acquisition of several more candidates running for office. No interest as yet in the security advisor. Bios due tomorrow.

Daycare Committee: Survey is open to the 15th – not a very good response to date. Laura Brunell, Krystal Burns, and Rob McCann met to discuss the St. Ann’s daycare facility which is presently under construction; information received about how they were established and how they will operate with Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Compensation Consultants: Reminder that they will be here on April 27th. We will be meeting with them—when and where still tentative.

Community Service Project: Do a group project for Community Service hours and get in touch with Marcia if interested.

Staff Survey Update: Good response; results in process of compilation and evaluation.

Student Orientation: Staff Assembly/various staff and departments to be involved with student orientation week. Notify Beth Hellwig-Olson that we are able and willing to be a resource for them and/or participate in the event.

Reminder about the spring open meeting. Plans to commence next meeting. Marcia to write an all staff letter to summarize this year’s accomplishments.

Security Update: Results of security walk from the Security Committee handed out and reviewed.
