STAFF ASSEMBLY EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MINUTES
July 3, 2002 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.
1898 Room
Members Present: Krystal Burns, Neva Bishop, Keith Gauthier, Trevor Werttemberger, Cathy Perry Theresa Castillo and Lisa Smythe-Rodino from the Compensation Committee
Members Absent: Matthew Wood, Kim Gieber, Mary Beth Charleboix, William Kostelec, Anne Thomas
The meeting was called to order by President Keith Gauthier at 12:10
Business
Stephen Sepinuck has approached the Benefits office to put together an online FAQ brochure regarding benefits; it is mostly faculty questions. Lisa has put on the table a request for questions regarding staff issues. Two were brought up COBRA – a better description of what it is and the criteria to obtain it; FMLA what is it, how does one go about claiming time off using it. The benefits office will publish and update it out of their office.
Thayne McCulloh has requested to be a speaker at our fall Staff Assembly meeting regarding the re accreditation, he also has requested that the Staff Assembly Executive Council include him in the survey that the Compensation Committee is developing.
The fall Staff Assembly meeting will be in Mid September with refreshments. Agenda to be determined at a later date.
A reminder that the Staff Assembly Executive Council meets every Wednesday at noon in the 1898 room and it is open to any member of the staff assembly.
A Silverwood family pack has been chosen to be the July lottery gift.
SAEC members need to provide a profile to Neva and have their picture taken by Bill Kostelec.

Next Meeting will be held on July 10, 2002.
Future meetings will be held each Wednesday in 1898 Room from 12:00 – 1:00. Since this is the lunch hour, please feel free to bring your lunch. All SAEC members will be notified if there is a change to this recurring meeting.
By virtue of the bylaws, all Staff Assembly meetings are open unless otherwise designated by the Executive Council. Everyone is welcome to attend.
