STAFF ASSEMBLY EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MINUTES
October 2, 2002 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.
President’s Conference Room
Members Present:, Neva Bishop, Keith Gauthier, Theresa Castillo, Anne Thomas, Cathy Perry, William Kostelec, Kim Gieber, Mary Beth Charleboix, Krystal Burns, Jeannie Coffey and Brett Hendricks from the Budget Committee; Janice Resch, Georgia Dunham and Gina McFarland from the Compensation Committee, Board of Regents Rep Gail Jennings, Kathy Sherrick from the Space Committee, Sandra Bogdanski from the Safety and Health Committee, Security Advisory Rep Theresa Schermerhorn
Members Absent: Matthew Wood, Trevor Werttemberger

The meeting was called to order by President Keith Gauthier at 12:10
Old Business
It was brought up that the SAEC had received information regarding the 3rd quartile pay increase at a meeting without a quorum. The information was the proposal was taken to the Trustees and was rejected.
We were informed that the Supervisor Training was not going to be mandatory as agreed to in writing by Father Spitzer. Keith will follow up on this.
New Business
The video “And we stayed†was shown to the SAEC. It was agreed that it was something that the staff should see. It was discussed as to the method in which it should be shown. Suggestions included:
Fall open Staff meeting
VP area meeting
Department meeting
It was suggested that we should look at professional help in training the faculty and staff with regards of diversity.
Scheduling of future meetings
Next Meeting will be held on October 9, 2002. Future meetings will be held each Wednesday in 1898 Room from 12:00 – 1:00. Since this is the lunch hour, please feel free to bring your lunch. All SAEC members will be notified if there is a change to this recurring meeting.
By virtue of the bylaws, all Staff Assembly meetings are open unless otherwise designated by the Executive Council. Everyone is welcome to attend.
