Raymond and Vicki presented the SAEC a timeline for rollout of the Diversity training (see attached). We were given copies of the surveys that will be used in the development of the training to evaluate and return feedback by February 7, 2003.
The “In this together†harassment training is different from what the Diversity training will be.
Bob Bartlett spoke to the SAEC regarding the presentation of “National Pastime†by the Onyx Theatre. This will be performed at Gonzaga Prep on February 23. This is for all of the Gonzaga Faculty and Staff and their families. He asked us to get the information out to the and to facilitate ticket distribution to staff
Steve Doolittle asked for input on how the Administration could communicate better with the staff. This came out of the joint memo sent to Father Spitzer from the Staff Assembly Executive council and the Faculty Assembly Executive council.
Steve suggested a Colloquium of some sort for just Staff. This would mean at least a half-day with a food and offices would have to close.
His questions to the SAEC are
What would staff like this to be?
What do we want to accomplish?
What questions do we want answered?
Ann commented that a meeting that included a break out of smaller groups would have to include training for the facilitators. Steve answered with the facilitators would be the VPs.
Other comments were:
The information needs to be disseminated
This should be a dialogue…. not just a Father Spitzer speech
Training on What is community? What is communication?
Follow through is important.
Steve suggested that the meeting be held mid February, however the SAEC asked that it be moved to March or April.
Meeting adjourned 1:20 PM
Scheduling of future meetings
