STAFF ASSEMBLY EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MINUTES

September 18, 2001 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Crosby Large Conference Room 


Members Present: Bill Kostelec, Janice Resch, Brett Hendricks, Theresa Castillo Anne Thomas, Kim Gieber, Krystal Burns, Keith Gauthier, Neva Bishop and Barbara Kolbet

Members Absent: Molly Spilker

Guests: Gail Jennings and Bobbie League

The meeting was called to order by President Bill Kostelec at 12:10. 

New Business

Staff Regents

·        Bill welcomed Gail Jennings as our new Staff Regent

·        Gail sits on the Physical Facilities Committee

·        Bobbie sits on the Curriculum Committee

·        The meeting scheduled for September 13, 2001 was cancelled

·        Duties as defined and adopted by the Staff Assembly Executive Committee in March of 2001 were reviewed

·        Staff Regents are able to take concerns to their committees from the staff at large or from the SAEC

·        An agenda is mailed to each Regent two weeks before the meeting, so the Staff Regents will inform the SAEC of any issues on which we may want to provide input

Approved minutes from August 28,2001

Faith and Justice – All Staff meetings

·        Brett Hendricks and Bill Kostelec met with Raymond Reyes on coordination of events to take place this fall

·        Each meeting will be centered around a specific topic – and will have a facilitator that can speak for a few minutes on that topic, as a lead in for the conversations that they will generate

·        Discussion took place on the number of meetings needed and the frequency of these meetings – no decision was voted on

·        These events will serve as a lead in to Spring 2002 Convocation – Faith and Justice II

·        2001 Spring Convocation on Faith and Justice Proceedings Report to be released when the first fall meeting is announced

Structure of the executive council

Discussion ensued about the foundation of the staff assembly, the progress since it’s inception and the future direction that the SAEC should take.

Scheduling of future meetings

September 25th, Crosby Multipurpose Room, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Future meetings will be held each Tuesday in Crosby Large Conference Room from 12:00 – 1:00.  Since this is the lunch hour, please feel free to bring your lunch.  All SAEC members will be notified if there is a change to this recurring meeting.

Exception is:

Meeting on October 16th will be held in the Crosby Multipurpose Room
