Members Present: Neva Bishop, Krystal Burns, Theresa Castillo, Bill Kostelec, Keith Gauthier, Janice Resch, Kim Gieber, and Lisa Smythe-Rodino from the Compensation Committee
Members Absent: Barbara Kolbet, Anne Thomas, Brett Hendricks and Molly Spilker
Congratulations: to Anne Thomas on the birth of her son Joseph on 5/12 and to Brett Hendricks on the birth of his daughter on 5/10.

Business
Update on the GU Community Picnic
A subcommittee has been formed that consists of Staff Assembly Elected members and other volunteers. The first meeting of this subcommittee will be 5/14/02 at 10 a.m. in the 1898 room.
President’s Lottery Cards and Prizes
Worked with Mike Casey on the details. Rick Jones is working on setting up a separate budget line for this purpose. Bill will contact Rick Jones and find out what is causing the delay.
Survey
Results will be tabulated and the published to all staff.
Elections
Today is the final day to cast votes. Results will be available for the next meeting.
End of the year luncheon
No new information – waiting on Sodexho

Order is in process.
Report from the Compensation Committee
Some questions about the reserve fund and the stopgap insurance have come up and will be addressed in the next meeting of the group that is working on the reserve fund.
Scheduling of future meetings
Next Meeting will be held on May 29, 2002.
Future meetings will be held each Wednesday in Crosby Large Conference Room from 12:00 – 1:00. Since this is the lunch hour, please feel free to bring your lunch. All SAEC members will be notified if there is a change to this recurring meeting.
By virtue of the bylaws, all Staff Assembly meetings are open unless otherwise designated by the Executive Council. Everyone is welcome to attend.
