STAFF ASSEMBLY EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MINUTES

March 6, 2000

SOUP AND SUBSTANCE LUNCHEON:

Jane Hession contacted Rosemarie regarding attending the Soup and Substance Luncheon.  They have invited only one member of the Staff Assembly Executive Council, not the entire council, to attend the next luncheon, which will be on Friday, March 10, 2000.  It would be advisable that a member of the council that will be a Staff Assembly officer next year attend this luncheon. Jane would like to meet with the Staff Assembly Executive Council to discuss the possibility of combining efforts with Partnership In Mission to put on a Soup and Substance luncheon for the staff to discuss concerns and issues.

STAFF ASSEMBLY JUNE EVENT:

Rosemarie contacted Raymond Reyes to ask him if he would speak at the June Staff Assembly Event.  Raymond has agreed to be the speaker.  Rosemarie will discuss a time and date for the event with Raymond.

COMPENSATION SURVEY RESULTS TO STAFF:

Two meetings have been scheduled for the Staff Assembly,  Wednesday, March 15, 2000, 6:30 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. and Thursday, March 16, 2000, 10:00 A.M. to Noon, to hand out and discuss the new Personnel Policy Handbooks, discuss the new staff advocates, and to announce and discuss the results of the Employee Compensation Survey.  Rosemarie will send out an e-mail to all staff members to inform them of the dates and times.

A copy of this survey will be given to Harry Sladich as well as Fr. Spitzer.  It was suggested that each department receive one copy of the survey.  If additional copies are needed, individuals can receive a copy from Faculty Services for a minimal fee.

COMPENSATION SURVEY, SPRING 2000:

The members of the Compensation Committee presented the results of the Compensation Survey done by the staff.  (See handouts)  Thayne McCulloh explained the survey results to the members of the Staff Assembly Executive Council.  Thayne will present these results to the staff at the Wednesday, March 15, 2000 and Thursday, March 16, 2000 Staff Assembly meetings.
