Service – Molly: Habitat service project will allow 30 spots on date, and will require funding for snacks and transportation.  Molly asked the council to consider whether T-shirts would be worthwhile to include when she brings a proposed budget.
Compensation – Georgia:  Committee will work with HR on a survey to the community.  Carol Huston will become the Council point of contact.

Committee Reports - University Committees
Sustainability – Angela:  Ann-Scott managed a booth at the social and received some good ideas on sustainability.
Mission Advisory Committee – Rodolfo:  Robin Guevara is the staff representative, with Rodolfo as a backup.

Medical Benefits – Contraception Coverage
Professor Williams is a health care attorney and is well-versed in health care law.   She reviewed the provisions of the health care plan related to contraception coverage, and discussed the law that impacts Gonzaga’s decision regarding covering prescription contraception under its health care plan.  Professor Williams is willing to help educate others in the community with her understanding of the law in relationship to Gonzaga’s health care plan.

Potential Student Impact:  HR stated that any changes in our coverage would impact the plan we make available to students, likely raising the cost.   Financial aid budgets include the cost of health insurance premiums when needed by students, increasing in amount if the plan cost increases. Professor Williams reported that data shows that adding contraceptive coverage has a minimal cost impact on the premium and on overall costs.

Gonzaga Plan Renewals Process:  The business process for renewals will change due to the renewal date being October rather than June.  The employee benefits committee reviews plan changes and cost impacts and provides recommendations on coverage changes, which goes to the executive committee.  The President decides the plan and premium amounts.   Debby LaRocco suggested that prescription contraception coverage will be suggested as an addition to the plan this year.
